Ollie Olsson scored a hat-trick as her side Hitchin Hearts won 3-2 at Luton Borough in the Herts and Beds League.
A tough, tight game ended in their favour as they made up ground in the league.
There was not a perfect start when Veronica D'Amico mistimed a clearance and put through her own goal.
Luton held the lead for a while but returning forward Olsson scored the first of her three goals following good work by Becky Saunders and Jade Turner to level.
Olsson was on the mark to give the Hearts the lead before half time, again following good support play down the middle.
The Hitchin girls continued to attack in the second half but were caught napping by a quick break as Luton levelled.
It was the combination again of Olsson and Saunders initially setting up Turner but when the home keeper blocked the shot, player of the match Olsson completed her hat-trick.
Hearts also hit the woodwork twice but had their own keeper Mel Sayer to thank for a couple of timely saves as well.
Arlesey Town Ladies won again, this time 1-0 at Barton Rovers in the league cup.
The Blues created chance after chance in the opening half with efforts from the likes of Marie Clarke, Mia Price, Katie Baldwin and Sarah Tayler.
Barton attacked hard at the start of the second period but Arlesey resisted.
The vital goal arrived in the 63rd minute as a one-two between Clarke and Tayler resulted in a shot from Clarke which went just over the keeper's head.
Tayler then smacked a shot against the post with only the keeper to beat and the rest of the tie was tense with Barton hitting the bar themselves 10 minutes from the end.
The second team were beaten 9-0 by a strong Sharnbrook side.
Langford Ladies recorded a 4-1 league victory over Norwich City Canaries at home on Sunday.
They went two-up inside 10 minutes with a brace from striker Naomi Lyons.
The Norfolk side were under constant pressure for most of the half as Langford failed to extend their advantage.
Laura Bright hit the bar and Faye Rees was denied twice by the Canaries keeper.
Verity Crook in the Langford goal had to deal with a couple of shots from distance as the half ended.
The Canaries scored with a long range free-kick on 55 minutes and then hit the bar with another before Jade White pounced on a poor clearance from the keeper to fire home Langford's third from 35 yards.
Emma Tune added the fourth with a well-taken strike following a cross by Donna McGuigan to complete a great performance.
Langford: Verity Crook, Nikki Day, Sheree Oliver, Laura Bright, Debbie Styles, Emma Tune, Laveena Betts, Shelley Forster (Sophie Bailey 65), Laura Shearwood (Donna McGuigan 53), Naomi Lyons (Jade White 65), Faye Rees.
