Knebworth will be kicking themselves after allowing lowly Evergreen to snatch a point at The Recreation Ground in their Herts Senior County League Premier Division.

The Ks were leading 1-0, after dominating the majority of the encounter, as the game entered the final stages.

But Evergreen, who went in to the match lying second from bottom with just one point from their previous six games, managed to haul themselves level with Dan Horton’s low drive squirming in off the post.

Knebworth themselves had only recorded one win prior to Saturday’s game but looked well set to make it number two after creating a hatful of chances.

Their downfall, however, was that they only took one of them, George Taylor’s 25-yard thunderbolt the only one to find the back of the net.

The result leaves the Ks in ninth, but with a bit of gap to Bedmond Sports above them.

They host league leaders New Salamis on Saturday in a 2.30pm kick-off.
