Stevenage's starlets staged a superb comeback to triumph 4-1 at Bromley in the FA Youth Cup on Thursday evening.

Boro’s young tyro’s showed tenacity and talent to win through to the third round of the prestigious tournament after a brace from Andronicus Georgiou, and goals from Ben Wilmot and Behar Krasniqi overcame a 1-0 deficit at the break.

Youth boss Jorden Gibson’s team now play Fleetwood Town away in the third round after the Lancastrians beat Tamworth this week.

Gibson’s highly-rated charges had one change in their starting line-up from their second round win at Luton with Moriarty coming in for Iontton with the bench showing had two swaps with Krasiniqi and Smith in for Fernandez and Field.

Boro had several early chances to take the lead with chances created by Gouldebourne and Georgiou. But it was Bromley who took the lead through Aiden Enver’s first time hit which left Harness no chance in goal.

Stevenage nearly levelled towards the end of the opening half after a goal-mouth scramble which saw three shots cleared off the line with efforts from Leslie, Draper and Gouldbourne all denied.

The start of the second half brought out a more confident Boro side which much more fire in their play – and their hard work finally paid off as Wilmot finished a Georgiou corner to equalise, making the score 1-1.

The visitors dominance was evident and was finally reflected in the scoreline as Georgiou found the back of the net after he broke through the defence before rifling his shot into the roof of the net.

Boro scored a third on 80 mihnutes after Krasniqi got on the end of a loose ball and chipped the keeper to put the team 3-1 ahead.

The highlight of the night according to seasoned observers was Georgiou’s second and his side’s fourth after a dramatic solo run from his own half, taking it past half the Bromley team before curling his shot into the top corner to make it a 4-1 win.
