Stevenage slipped to a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Exeter City on Saturday
Darren Sarll’s men fell behind to a 53rd minute goal by the Grecians Lloyd James.
He fired a right footed shot from the centre of the box low to the bottom left hand corner of Joe Fryer’s goal after being teed up by team-mate Liam McAlinden.
With 19 minutes to go Paul Tisdale’s side doubled their lead with a strike from Pierce Sweeney whose right footed shot from the right side of the box again evaded Fryer after a corner failed to be cleared by the Boro backline.
On 80 minutes the prolific Matty Godden pulled a goal back after his right footed shot flew into the top left hand corner to make it 2-1.
And despite Joe Martin’s shot late on the away team couldn’t force an equaliser.
Boro slip to a disappointing 16th in League Two but take on 23rd place Chesterfield next Saturday at the Lamex.
