Baldock Town Youth under-13s had a cracking Easter time in Eisenberg.

A party of 33 adults and children spent three excellent days in Baldock's twin town in Germany.

The event was organised by the club after the successful hosting of the same team from Eisenberg in Baldock last April.

The town proudly owns a full-size third generation Astroturf football pitch, with a five-a-side pitch behind it, all floodlit. Next to it is a full-size grass pitch with athletics track around it, again all floodlit.

Some of the players train up to four times a week!

The team met the German team manager Donald Siebecker and town mayor Adolf Kauth on arrival which was followed by a welcoming party.

A four-team tournament also took place which saw Baldock lose 1-0 to the hosts and a team from Horchheim eventually win. A range of other activities were also fitted in.

Baldock hope that similar exchanges between the towns will continue for many years.

The team would like to thank kit sponsors Chris Semmens Commercial Insurance Broker (CSCIB) and North Herts District Council and the British/German Voyage youth link for funding towards the travel costs.

Anyone interested in playing for the team should call club secretary Doug Neath on 01462 637122.
