Good display despite dropped points is good sign for Codicote

Liam Errington made two new signings on Saturday to bolster a very improving squad with both centre-half Andy Brosnan and right wing-back Adrian Spencer featuring in their draw on Saturday.

Codicote started well with the likes of Paul Orim and Andy Iwendiuno having plenty of success down the flanks while their back line restricted Chipperfield to a few long range efforts in the first half.

The second half opened with Codicote attacking and when Otim slipped the ball through for Marcus Cumberbatch the Codicote striker could only drag the ball wide. The two men teamed up again soon afterwards when Cumberbatch was caught in the box following Otim’s cross and Lee McDonald scored from the spot.

Codicote raised their game and Iwendiuno once again muscled his way past defenders but all Chipperfield could do was to haul the striker down. Once again McDonald was Codicote main man, this time from 25 yards.

The hosts should have held their opponents off, but within minutes conceded the first of two goals as Chipperfield took a point from the game, the first from rebound following Chris Adam’s save from a penalty.
