Five goalscorers were on target as Baldock Town kept the pressure on Harpenden Town at the top of SSML Division One.

Lee Harman opened the scoring as early as the fifth minute against Ampthill Town before Josh Furness added his name to the scoresheet to make it 2-0 at the break.

Six minutes after the restart player/assistant manager Dean Gilbert made it three and not long afterwards top scorer Anthony James added a fourth. Harry Holland then came up with his side’s fifth with 15 minutes to go to keep Luke Gregson’s men just five points behind leaders Harpenden, who beat Bedford 2-1.

Baldock, though, have four matches in hand on the league leaders.

Alfie Barker scored a hat-trick as Codicote put four goals past Chesham United Reserves.

Leeroy Williams was also on target as Codicote moved above their opponents to 15th in the SSML Division One table.

Arlesey Town Reserves were also in action but went down 3-1 at Buckingham Athletic.

In the Premier, Stotfold were involved in a seven-goal thriller away to St Margaretsbury.

However, it was the home side who won the tie with a 4-3 scoreline leaving Stotfold 15th in the league table.
