Baldock Town have received backing from their most famous son as they look to secure the financial and long-term future of the club.

A multi-million-pound nationwide plan has been launched to help “unlock the power of football pitches in England” and allow more people to play the game as well as “improving their physical and mental health, empowering young people and strengthening communities”.

Baldock Town missed out on a place in the second round of the FA Vase after they fell to a 4-2 defeat at Gorleston.

Fresh from a first defeat in SSML Division Two, Codicote faced another of the division’s high flyers – and will possibly consider the 1-1 draw at Old Bradwell United as points dropped.
