BLUEHARTS secured their first Premier A league win of the season beating Ipswich II 6-4 away.

It was not the greatest of starts, after five minutes Harts found themselves two goals down.

Harts kept their composure and were rewarded when John Sapsed was called off the bench and made an immediate impact, winning the ball back before starting the move that saw Adam Wells net from close range.

Minutes later Ashley Hammond found himself on the end of a Danny Fair cross pass which he too put away from close range.

Harts then continued to build on this momentum and took the lead when Jimmy Lewis smashed one home again from close range. Ipswich then scored from a short corner right on the half time whistle to make it 3-3.

Harts came out after the break determined to take their first three points of the season and it wasn't long before they scored their fourth. J Lewis got on the end of an exquisite through-ball from John Barrett before rounding the Ipswich goalkeeper and hammering his shot home.

Ipswich turned up the pressure, but Harts soaked it up and hit them hard on the break,

Hammond found himself in front of goal unmarked and didn't make any mistake drilling the ball past the keeper.

At 5-3 Blueharts then saw J Sapsed receive a yellow card for illegally bringing down an aerial pass. Ipswich capitalised on their extra man and scored their fourth.

Then to make things even harder J Lewis received a yellow card when he charged the opposition centre half with his shoulder.

Back to 10 men again Harts defended like their lives depended on it while Ipswich were determined to get the draw.

Blueharts were awarded a penalty corner two minutes from time and stand in skipper Barrett sealed the win with a well executed flick from the top of the circle.

Other results: Blueharts II 4 (Meyer, Drew, Hamilton, Britton) Upminster 1.

MBDA came close to a deserved point but went down 1-0 to Southgate Adelaide II.

For much of the game both sides were closely matched with end-to-end action and good defending. Unfortunately, it was was only a lapse in concentration from MBDA's midfield that led to their third successive defeat and Adelaide's goal.

Letchworth men's results: Letchworth 3 Stevenage 0, Stevenage II 1 Letchworth II 1, Letchworth III 3 (Ashley Brown 3) Welwyn Gdn City II 4, Broxbourne V 5 Letchworth IV 1, Letchworth V 3 Southgate Adelaide III 0, Southgate Adelaide IV 3 Letchworth VI 2 (Andy Stroomer, Johnno Gordon). HA Vets Cup: Norwich 2 Letchworth 3 - Letchworth now play Ipswich away on November 12 in the next round.
