GRAHAM Westley won the play-off final on Sunday.

Unfortunately for the Broadhall Way faithful, it was only the play-off final of the annual Stevenage Boro corporate six-a-side tournament.

Westley was part of the team from club sponsors AVC which won the £1,000 top prize (that was donated to Cancer Research).

The runners-up were from Stevenage Leisure Ltd after they were beaten 1-0 in the winner-takes-all encounter.

It was a swansong after the announcement 24 hours earlier that Westley will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of June.

He joined Boro in January 2003 to replace Wayne Turner and saved a seemingly doomed side from the drop.

After taking the club to the 2005 play-off final, he missed out to Morecambe for the remaining play-off spot this season.

Westley said: "The board and I have been in discussions for the past couple of weeks about all aspects of my role at the club.

"We both held opinions about the future and we have both eventually decided that it is the right time for us both to change direction.

"Above all else, because of the geography of the club and my expanding business interests, there is no way that I can give the club the time that it needs as it builds upon its Academy structure and fully integrates football at all levels.

"I have enjoyed my time at Stevenage where I have met some great people and enjoyed a healthy degree of success.

"I leave the club with a fantastic squad of young players and wish the club, board, players and supporters every success in the future."

Boro chairman Phil Wallace added: "Graham has made a real difference to Stevenage Boro. He dragged us out of relegation danger, managed the transition to us becoming full-time and almost lifted us into the Football League.

"We have a great respect for what he achieved here and the board thanks him for his outstanding work these last three years."

* Two Boro players are in Paul Fairclough's England National Game XI final squad for the upcoming Four Nations Tournament.

Ronnie Henry and George Boyd have been named in Cloughie's 18 for the tournament based in Sussex between May 23-27.

Henry is the grandson of Ron Henry who was the left-back in Spurs' Double winning side of 1961 and Boyd is rated as one of the hottest properties in the Conference.

Former Boro men Simon Travis and Justin Richards are also in the squad, along with the ex-Arlesey Town duo of Shane Blackett and Craig Mackail-Smith.

England will attempt to retain the Four Nations title after they won all three games in last year's tournament held in Ireland.

Cloughie believes that his players will use another ex-Boro man, DJ Campbell, as their inspiration. "I am firmly of the opinion that any one of the 18 players that are in my squad this year could be playing at a higher level, and we have players who enter the tournament on a real high.

The full England squad is: Shwan Jalal (Woking), Paul Jones (Exeter City), Simon Travis (Hereford United), Kieron Charnock (Northwich Victoria), Darran Kempson (Morecambe), Ronnie Henry (Stevenage Boro), Shane Blackett (Dagenham and Redbridge), John Nutter (Grays Athletic), Craig Mackail-Smith (Dagenham and Redbridge), Ian Craney (Accrington Stanley), Michael Carr (Northwich Victoria), Gary Roberts (Accrington Stanley), Stuart Thurgood (Grays Athletic), George Boyd (Stevenage Boro), Aaron McLean (Grays Athletic), Rob Purdie (Hereford Athletic), Dennis Oli (Grays Athletic), Justin Richards (Woking).
