Footballers from England have been successful in at least one international challenge this summer.
Hitchin Town under-18s entertained American visitors from the Woodward Soccer Academy in Georgia last Tuesday night in a one-sided match.
The English cruised to a comfortable 4-0 win with goals from Leroy Williams (two), Craig Ferrance and Scott Orphanou.
Hitchin Town manager Craig Abbiss said: "I was delighted with our performance in our first pre-season friendly.
"Several newcomers - Leroy Williams, Craig Ferrance and Luke Paternoster - put in superb first appearances."
Hitchin Town under-18s will be playing midweek matches in the Ridgeons Floodlit League this season. They require a small number of quality players. Anyone interested should call Craig Abbiss on 07884 272044.
