Hitchin were in a hurry as they continued their good start to the season with a 10-wicket victory over Langleybury at Lucas Lane.
The visitors won the toss and must have regretted their decision to bat first on a warm afternoon.
Skipper Dave Moore struck straight away bowling opener Cooper with a yorker.
Langleybury struggled to 17-1 off 13 overs and from here they lost wickets steadily.
They were eventually all out for 102 off 44.4 overs with captain Moore taking 4-26, Cameron Boyd 3-17 and Simon Bayston 2-23.
In reply, the Lucas Laners punished the visitors' bowling and they reached their target off 21.2 overs with both Craig Millwood and Boyd finishing unbeaten after reaching their fifties.
The game was over by 5.50pm!
On Sunday, the current Hitchin first team took on a team of ex- Hitchin players in the annual President's Day fixture.
The current boys came out on top off the last ball.
* The second teams of Preston and visitors Hitchin shared the points in Division Six.
Hitchin took first knock and scored 207 all out. Casey Walker (3-61) and Ian Hamilton (4-29) were the most successful Preston bowlers.
Preston's reply was solid but not aggressive and although openers Matt Burleigh and Simon Luxton put on 93 for the first wicket followed by Indika's whirlwind 31, this was not backed up entirely by the middle order as Preston played out the draw on 180-6.
