Dun Cow seal place in cup’s last eight

After two false alarms, the hotly-anticipated Herts Sunday Senior Cup tie saw Dun Cow take their place in the last eight.

Their reward is a trip to Ashlyns United on February 5, who they beat in the final a couple of seasons ago.

They raced into a three-goal lead through two Scott Mahoney strikes and an own goal.

Nirankari Sports Sabha rallied in the second-half, hitting back through Steve Case and then Mark Barnes.

Scott Waters made a couple of good saves before Adam Paine finished matters.

The KLM Challenge Cup saw no surprises this week. John Saunders, Warren Grieve and Jason Drackford were on target as Bottles beat King Pin United.

Another banana skin was avoided as Ricky Dance (two), Joe Dance (two), Perry Phillips and Gary Pomfret netted in Mallard's stroll over AFC Stevenage, James Toll netting the consolation.

Two all-Division Three clashes saw soon-to-be-hitched Bryan 'Rocket' Every strike four times for Hogshead. Jamie Campany and Paul Wright added the others, while Lee Jones and Daniel Grimes netted for North Herts Celtic.

Two Sean Soards strikes, including a volley after teeing himself up, a one-on-one finish from Paul Ryan and an own goal saw Pin Green halt White Horse's recent resurgence (Jamie Robertson).

Premier Division action saw Tony Wells, Joel Mason and new boy Alex Headington net a brace apiece, while Carl McColm also scored in Bedwell Athletic's easy win over Hermit of Redcoats, for whom Alan Herbert replied.

Shaun McDermott gave Broadhall the lead before Andy Parrish put Rileys level at the break from Paul Blantern's cross.

Toby Boucher picked out McDermott to restore the lead with his 14th goal of the season; he also struck the post.

Ross Woodbridge finished McDermott's knock down to extend the lead. Mike Wenn and Graeme Hulstrom's bullet header levelled matters for Rileys. Daniel Curtin's cross saw them win it through the lively James Khakpour-Smith.

Royal Oak were awarded the points against Clifton, who also look set to be yet another club to fold.

In Division One, where Bar Absolute's folding was confirmed last week, it was a good day for MBDA. They took advantage of Propak's weakened side to go fourth.

Olly Rice netted two more from midfield, while two signings from Bar Absolute scored on their debuts, Wayne Campbell and James Brewster. Ade Barry also missed a penalty.

Rising Sun slipped to a shock defeat against Norwich Union, who finally gained their first win of the season.

Goal machine Dave Banks was the hero again with a hat-trick inside 20 minutes to shellshock their opponents. Joe Delasalle pulled one back before Graeme Duff restored the three-goal lead.

Delasalle scored again, as did Tom Hillard, Anderson broke from the halfway line to net before John Vooght pulled another one back.

Mark Warburton missed a glorious chance to give Stevenage Colts a rare win, although Barry Hazleton and Paul Parsons' goals were enough for a point, Kenny Slack and Michael Bunker netted for FCFL.

Coopers went top of Division Two after another resounding win. Jason Lovelock opened the scoring with a header before RD Newcotech captain Danny Hukin's shot bobbled over keeper James Barrett to level matters.

Martin Barrett's shot was turned into his own goal by a defender to restore the lead, before Gav Acton scored twice, sandwiching a Chris Goodyear strike.

ProCladd only fielded 10 men, so credit to them to resist the temptation playing an unregistered player.

Despite goals from George Rowe and Neil Henderson, they came up against Anthony Ambrose's heroics in the SBS goal as Lee Kitching (two) and Luke Mitchell netted.

Station were easy winners over Marquis of Lorne thanks to Micky Sandford (two), Ryan Skeggs (two), Liam McQueen, Ian Woodfield, David Price and Martin Preedy.
