IN a tough away fixture against West Herts, Stevenage Ladies struggled to find their recent form going down 3-0.

It was the home side who came out strongest in the opening half, dominating play and possession and giving Stevenage plenty of defensive work to do.

Sitting back behind the ball, Stevenage attacking moves were infrequent and the strength of the West Herts defence denied any early shots on goal.

At the other end of the pitch, all of the pressure was on the Stevenage back line with player of the match Liz Gates soaking up a lot of the attacks at left defence.

However, Herts soon broke through with a rebounded shot slotted away comfortably into the Stevenage goal.

With a two-goal deficit going into the second half, Stevenage picked up their game making some good play across the pitch. However, strong keeping denied their few shots on goal and kept out two penalty corner opportunities.

In a counter attack West Herts were able to break through once again to pull away to a 3-0 lead.

A poor performance and no points sees Stevenage slip down the table to seventh position.

Letchworth Ladies earned a pointed when they equalised with a last minute penalty flick at Wisbech.

Letchworth dominated the opening 20 minutes and never allowed the home team to settle, but were unable to convert possession into goals.

Wisbech finally took the lead 10 minutes after the interval from a short corner.

In the last minute Wisbech conceded a penalty flick and Letchworth deservedly equalised when Cindy Dixon calmly hit the ball low inside the post.
