Two international cricketers were in Mid Beds as the countdown to the Ashes begins.

Henlow Cricket Club in association with main club sponsors Clifton Cuisine enjoyed an evening with two men to represent both Hampshire and England with distinction.

Robin Smith and Shaun Udal were at Clifton Community Centre last Thursday night.

Former Wisden Cricketer of the Year Smith played 62 Tests and 71 one-day internationals for England while spinner Udal toured Pakistan and India last winter with his country.

There was also an Indian buffet plus an Elvis tribute act.

The club is holding its presentation night for both colts and adults this Saturday night at the Henlow Sports and Social Club.
