A NIGHTMARE start paved the way for Stotfold's seven-goal demolition at S&L Corby.

They were five goals down inside half an hour but managed to largely stem the flow for the remaining hour.

Stotfold fell behind on three minutes with a goal from nothing. Michael Keall's shot from outside box was deflected off a S&L Corby head and looped up and over Nigel Blower.

On 11 minutes, a corner was headed in by Steve Julian from close range.

The hosts scored twice in three minutes to be 4-0 up after only 21 minutes. Bobby Dean slid in at the far post to score a third and then a free-kick from the halfway line was headed in by Dominic Johnson.

Ian Thorne had the chance of a reply when he shot under the goalkeeper but it was cleared off the line.

The fifth goal came via Greg McIlwain from another cross and Blower did well to prevent Johnson scoring a sixth from a free-kick.

It became six on 58 minutes as Keall scored a second when he was first to the rebound after his initial effort was parried.

Pat Alcide headed wide from a corner and Adam Furness' low free-kick was parried as Stotfold sought a consolation.

The deficit became seven on 84 minutes when Pete Sneddon's low shot from the left went in off the far post.

Rokermen: Blower, Alcide, Purton (Philbin 46m), Taylor, Drury, Mitchell, Beckett, Nichol, Furness, Thorne, Downham (Holmes 53m).

The Rokermen will travel to Wootton instead of Boston this Saturday.

Langford were well beaten by unbeaten Leverstock Green, going down 5-1 at Forde Park.

Their only consolation came via an own goal in the last minute.

Arlesey Athletic went down 3-1 at Cockfosters, Adam Millard's goal halving the deficit at one point.

P Langford were easy 7-2 winners at Sun Postal Sports in the SML Challenge Trophy second round on Tuesday night.

An own goal after just 57 seconds gave them the early lead.

The Reds were 5-0 up at the break thanks to Lee Pateman (two), Gareth Grant and Mark Barnes.

After the break, Pateman completed his hat-trick and Barnes scored a second with the home side netting either side of the Langford seventh.
