STEVENAGE Colts held their presentation night to round off another successful season for the FA Charter Standard club.

Outgoing chairman Eric Morcambe praised all their performances this season and thanked everybody's hard work.

The highlights were the under-14s clinching the Second Division title, losing only one game all season, and the under-15s securing runners-up spot in Division 2B.

Teams went on tour again this season to Newquay, Skegness and the Isle of Wight.

They secured third place at both Newquay and Isle of Wight with Kerise Powell awarded the player of the tournament for the second year in succession.

Colts hold their annual five and seven-a-side tournament on July 16 at Hampson Park.

Places are still available for most age groups from under-eight to 14. If your team is not entered then contact the organiser Robert Smith on 07812 712731 or email smithrobertm@zoom.co.uk

They are actively looking for more players, especially for next season's under-14 team.

Colts train at 6pm every Wednesday at Canterbury Way Playing Fields.

Letchworth Garden City Eagles under-sevens Reds, sponsored by Herts Timber Supplies, are looking promising.

The team has only been playing together for three weeks and have proved to be successful so far.

After previously reaching the semi-final of the Hatfield Youth tournament, they won the Stevenage Boro mini-soccer tournament and only lost one game along the way.

Wymondley Park monopolised the Comets Sports club six-a-side tournament in Hemel Hempstead. Both of their sides came through their group stages to miss playing each other in the semis.

Wymondley Park A made up of Jordan Richardson, Daniel Munson, Calogero Maniscalco, Matt Sayers, Kyle Anderson, Johnny Butler and Joe Elliott beat Hemel Aces 2-0 in their semi-final and the B team beat Evergreen 3-0 in theirs.

The final was an even affair, with the B side eventually winning 3-2 with goals from Jordan Goodman, an own goal and Nick Albone. The A side replied through Anderson and Butler.

Letchworth Garden City Eagles under-10s recently won the Hatfield open tournament.

They beat teams from various leagues throughout the county including a team from Tottenham.

Although the pitches were close to Stanborough Lakes, it was not plain sailing for them and had to face a penalty shoot-out in the quarter finals, finally beating Stevenage Boro Juniors 3-1 in the final.

They are becoming under-11 Clarets next season and will be holding goalkeeper trials soon.
