North Herts District Council held its tag rugby festival in partnership with Hitchin Rugby Club last Wednesday.
Fifteen primary schools from North Herts attended the event.
The cold did not deter the enthusiasm and team spirit of the teams and a high level of tag rugby was seen.
Mixed teams consisted of 10 players, seven on the pitch at any time, and were supported by teachers and families. Referees came from North Hertfordshire College who study at the Hitchin Rugby Academy.
Breachwood Green, Sandon, St John's and Codicote made it through to the semi-finals.
It needed sudden death to decide the winners of the final as the lead constantly changed hands.
