The accolades keep coming for one local football club.
FA Charter Standard Adult Club AFC Santos, only the fourth adult club to achieve this award in the county, are the adult charter club winners for Hertfordshire and now the Eastern Region.
They play in the North Herts League (now the North and Mid Herts League) on Saturdays.
The club was formed in August 2004 by Nicolas Barrow and is named after Arsenal FC and Santos FC of Brazil.
They were awarded the FA Charter Mark last summer.
Originally sponsored by Sodexho UK, they are now sponsored by Bottles - Bar and Restaurant.
Their reward for winning the regional title is to collect the award at Ipswich's Portman Road next week.
The presentation will take place at half-time of England under-21s versus Moldova in the European Championship qualifier on Tuesday night (8pm ko).
The club will represent the East Region at the national awards later this year.
It just gets better for the club as they will also be playing at a new home from next season - the St Ippolyts Recreation Ground.
AFC Santos always welcome new players at adult level to play Saturday league football. The club are also hoping to start a reserve team for under-21 players and an under-nine youth team. All interested players should contact the club on afcsantos@ntlworld.com or by calling 07891 108025.
