A THAI kickboxer trained in Hitchin is proving a real champion.
Chris Knowles (shown above) recently became the super heavyweight English champion.
Although based at the Burnt Oak Gym, Chris used the Minotaur Gym at Hitchin in his build-up to the fight.
Knowles topped the bill in beating James McSweeney (Team Machine) to unify the UKMF and IMKO English super heavyweight titles.
His unanimous success on points took his record to 19 wins and a draw in his 20 fights.
The local gym is currently working with North Herts District Council to provide people with the chance to try Thai kickboxing training.
