Stevenage Town will again be running a two-week programme of rugby summer activity camps.

These will take place on the weeks beginning August 18 and 26.

The second week will be a four-day course due to the Bank Holiday Monday.

Prices are £45 for the first week and £36 for the second week.

The rugby club aims to build on the huge success of the camps last year, which were sponsored by MBDA.

With the help of MBDA again this time, they hope to provide an even better learning experience for the children. All coaches are qualified and have been CRB checked.

The aims of the camp are for all the participants to have fun in a safe environment with other children of the same age, and that they leave having improved skill levels, knowledge of the game, fitness, and are more confident.

Youngsters will learn about nutrition, health and fitness, team building, coaching, refereeing, video analysis and the new laws coming into the game. This is to give the players a broader understanding of the game.

As well as rugby, there will be tasters of other sports including cricket, football and other fun games.

The camp will be held at Stevenage Town's North Road ground which is near the Lister Hospital. If you wish to book someone on the camp, contact Gareth Lewis on 07949 198341 or garethrlewis@msn.com for a booking form.

* Young players are wanted to attend the club's free training sessions on Wednesday nights at Marriotts Sports College.

It is on from 6.30pm onwards and caters for six to 18 year olds.
