The fighter beat tough Bulgarian opponent Danail Stoyanov on points at the world famous York Hall in London’s East End on Saturday.

The victory sees Graham – co-owner of the Elite Fitness gym near the town’s railway station – move his record to eight wins on the bounce including two victories coming inside the distance.

Graham turned pro back in November 2013, racking up seven straight triumphs with his last victory in November 2016 against Scott Hillman prior to a break to concentrate on his business – before signing with a new team and returning as promised to the Sweet Science with a bang.

Speaking to CometSport Graham said: “It’s good to be back. I was a bit rusty to start with but it was good to get another win under my belt.

“I’m delighted. I’m looking forward to enjoying Christmas after working so hard for this fight but I’ll still be training hard with a view to having my next fight hopefully around February.

“2019 is shaping up to be a big year. If I can get to around 10 unbeaten fights I’ll be aiming to have a tilt at the southern area title.”

Well-respected Graham was boosted by having more than 110 supporters backing him in Bethnal Green while fighting on the Goodwin Promotions ‘London Calling’ card.

Modest Graham was quick to hail the special atmosphere his fans generated, adding: “It was great to be back at York Hall. A big thank you to everyone who came and supported me, I really appreciate it.

“Hopefully by the end of next year I’ll have a belt around my waist to show them.”

Stablemate and loyal pal Tom Ansell has hailed his pal’s triumph. The highly-rated Ansell, who has won all five of his bouts as a professional fighter between 154lbs and 140lbs, is delighted for his friend and fellow boxer.

He said: “It was a great win against an awkward opponent. He went through the rounds and shook off the ring rust. An exciting road lies ahead for Graham.”
