ARLESEY Town were 1-0 winners over Enfield in their final home game of the season.

Before the match, Michael Cox received the supporters' player of the season award and midfielder Lee Tekell was recognised for completing 200 league games for the Blues.

There was little incident in a low-key first 45 minutes although Kaan Fehmi flashed a low shot just wide of a post. Tekell's 20-yard strike also forced Paul Daley into a diving stop.

The second half was more lively as Arlesey soon scored when Michael McKenzie capitalised on a mix-up.

Enfield almost levelled when Ryan Hall found himself in space right in front of goal but failed to hit the target.

Both sides had livened up and Tekell thought he had added to the score but was adjudged to have been offside.

McKenzie then met Ozie Foster's cross from the right only to see his shot come back off the post.

An Enfield free-kick saw Carle Tasker at full stretch to push the ball over the bar in a rare threat.

They travel to Barking and East Ham United in Saturday's final game.

Blues: Tasker, Fehmi, Bloss (Morbin), Hatchett, Hay, Cox, Beevor (Nichol), Gregson, Foster, McKenzie, Tekell.

Stotfold were beaten 2-1 at Boston in their final match this season.

Veteran striker Gary Bull opened the scoring after 19 minutes but Jay Thomas equalised from the penalty spot four minutes later.

Thomas was later red carded for a kick at Jonny Rowan and Boston won it through Micky Nuttell in the last minute.

It has been a mixed week for Langford. Manager Ken Davidson has resigned and will leave at the end of the season. The Reds avoided relegation by winning 4-2 at Harpenden on Saturday with goals from Marc Holmes (two), Robert Groves and Joe Delasalle.

Davidson will not sign-off with a cup final appearance though as Langford went down 2-1 at Barton Rovers in the semi-finals of the Hinchingbrooke Cup on Tuesday night.
