DALE Binns is the latest acquisition for Stevenage Boro as new boss Mark Stimson looks to shape his squad.

Binns is regarded as a flying winger and he has signed in a two-year deal from Conference South side Cambridge City.

Stimson said: "Dale has got good pace and plays wide left.

"We've already got a great young player in that position in George Boyd but it's competition for places and allows me to play George inside in the pre-season games.

"Dale has never been full time before and I think he will adapt well. Like me, he is really looking forward to the start of pre-season training in a fortnight and is really up for the challenge ahead."

Stimson must be hoping Binns will make the adjustment like another flying wide man Jon Nurse, who signed a new deal last week.

Other new players recruited by Stimson so far are full-back John Nutter from Stimson's former club Grays Athletic and goalkeeper Danny Potter.

Stimson added: "I'm speaking to other players at the moment but it's quite a quiet period for the next fortnight with players away and League players waiting for the best deal."

Boro will meet Championship side Luton Town, Premiership Spurs and League One new boys Leyton Orient at Broadhall Way in pre-season.

The annual Spurs fixture is on Tuesday, July 25 (8pm ko) and Martin Jol will bring his strongest available first team squad.

It should be a great opportunity to see Spurs and Boro's new signings in action.

Tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, July 4. Personal callers can purchase tickets in the club shop every Tuesday and Thursday from 5-7pm and on Saturdays from 10am-1pm.

Tickets can also be booked over the phone by calling the ticket hotline on 08708 112494 between 10am-4pm Monday to Friday from July 4-21.

Boro recommend advance booking for this attractive fixture as the club expect a near capacity crowd.

Any tickets not sold will be placed on the turnstiles for sale on the evening of the game.

Ticket prices are: seating - adults £16, concessions £14; terrace - adults £12, concessions £10. Concessions are under-16 and over-60.

Admission prices are based on cash payment at the ticket office and on the turnstiles. All tickets reserved via the ticket hotline by credit card will have £1.50 per ticket added.
