Biggleswade AC was successful at Sunday's Eastern Counties Championships at Stevenage.

Zack Morrison won the senior men's high jump in 1.80m.

In the combined junior and senior women's events, junior (under-20) Frankie Birch was fourth in the discus, came away in the hammer with a bronze medal, and in the shot was fifth.

In the under-15 boys' events, Jake Ovenden ran in the 100m and was quicker in the heat than he was the final having equalled his best in the heat. Jake also ran in the 200m - his preferred distance - and having won his heat was second in the final.

In the under-15 girls' events, Chelsea McKenzie ran in the 800m and finished fifth in a new personal best and club record of 2:29.9.

In the discus, Katie Bland won the bronze medal in a best throw of 22.35m which is a new personal best and club record.

Katie also competed in the high jump and equalled her best of 1.30m to be fifth on countback.

In the under-15 girls' shot, Jasmine Coughtry was also on the winning podium with third with a best of 7.80m.

Matt Humphries came third in the pole vault in a new personal best and club record of 2.90m.

* Biggleswade was fifth out of seven in the penultimate Southern Men's League meeting of the season on Saturday.

Zack Morrison was in the high jump and competing for London AC was Geoff Parsons, the former British record holder.

Geoff stands at 6ft 8ins tall while Zack can muster 5ft 6ins! Zack was second with a best leap of 1.80m and Geoff won with only 1.85m having failed the next height he attempted.
