Biggleswade Town boss Lee Allinson calls for the Waders to enjoy their unbeaten streak while it lasts after sinking Coalville Town 3-0 in fiery clash on Saturday.

The victory at Langford Road ensured the only teams left unbeaten among 228 in England’s top seven tiers remained Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Chorley and little Biggleswade.

The stat has seen Allinson compared to Pep Guardiola and Maurizio Sarri, but the victory also signified progression for the Waders - emerging from a streak of five draws in a row to win three of their last four, and rise to fourth in the Evo-Stik Southern League Central.

Speaking to CometSport, Allinson said: “It’s fantastic. We’ve got a very small budget and we’re working well so it’s nice to be recognised.

“It doesn’t happen very often and this run could end at any time so why not enjoy it.

“I felt some of the draws we’ve had should have been wins. So to turn our draws to wins is really positive.

“I talk to my Dad (Ian Allinson, St Albans City boss and Arsenal cult-hero) every day and he’s a massive help. He’s always giving advice and telling me to enjoy the ride, because it can change at any time. I know how cruel football can be.”

The Waders started their defence of their unbeaten record by going 2-0 within 30 minutes, Joe White and Jonny McNamara to scoring from close-range.

However, after touchline drama between fellow invincible side Chelsea and Manchester United earlier in the day, the Waders went one better.

Perry was sent-off for an incident while the ball wasn’t in play, before Coalville’s Kyle Bryant and Waders assistant manager Brett Donnelly were also dismissed in the aftermath.

The game restarted with 20 men, and Biggleswade adjusted well, containing the visitors before sealing the victory in the 85th minute, with Stevenage loanee White completing his double.

Allinson added: “It was a really tough game, they’re an attacking side so it was important we were really strong in defence.

“You won’t create as much against those sides so when chances come you need to take them.”
