Two sisters from Lower Stondon were successful at the recent Bedford Junior Aquathon at the Robinson Pool.

Chelsea Mckenzie, a 13-year-old who attends Samuel Whitbread Community College in Clifton, claimed the Year Eight/Nine event with a winning margin of more than a minute, including that of her male counterparts.

Ten-year-old sister Molly, a pupil at Robert Bloomfield Middle School in Shefford, won the Year Six/Seven event, despite being a year younger than many of her fellow competitors.

Both girls run for Biggleswade Athletics Club and swim for Hitchin Swimming Club.

They regularly complete in the Eastern Region triathlon and aquathon series events and have gained numerous top three honours during 2006.
