Boston 2 Stotfold 2

Lee Allinson scored an injury-time equaliser to ensure honours were even in this top of the table clash.

Stotfold started the brighter of the two sides with Joel Mason forcing a strong parry wide from Bark Gremink after Ricky Case put him clean through on five minutes.

Ten minutes later, Case put in a cross from wide on the right which was met in the box by Paul Garrett whose first-time volley went wide.

Gary Bull headed down a cross from the right down into the arms of Brad Gillham on 20 minutes.

Then a poor goal kick from Gremink was nearly punished after Garrrett won the ball from the last defender but Mason could only stab wide.

Just as the home team started to come into the game, with Liam Ogden forcing Gillham to parry wide a shot from the right, Stotfold took the lead on 39 minutes.

Louis Lee headed the ball forward on the left for Mason to run on to, and as Gremink advanced, he deftly lifted the ball over him into the back of the net.

Colin Shambrook got back to keep Bull's shot past Gillham out as the home team applied more pressure and Stotfold conceded too many free-kicks around the area.

The equaliser came on the stroke of half time when Paul Goodhand's free-kick inside the D was floated over the wall with Gillham getting a hand to it but unable to keep it out.

Stotfold had two great chances at the start of the second half to restore their lead.

Mason, Garrett and Case passed the ball round the box only for Allinson to blast over from the right.

And then Garrett headed Lee's cross from the right back down for Mason to fire over.

A great block from Tawhid Juneja kept Bull's powerful strike at bay on 70 minutes.

But a cross from wide on the right three minutes later was bundled over the line at the far post by Bull.

Just as the home team dominated the end of the first half, Stotfold did the same towards the end of the match.

Shots went wide from Luke Donnelly, Mason and Allinson with the battling until the final whistle paying off deep into stoppage time.

A corner, which even saw Gillham make an appearance in the opposition's box, was headed back out to Garrett who fired the ball back into the box.

It came to Allinson with his back to goal, and with the slightest of touches, he looped a header ball over Gremink and into the far corner.
