The Hitchin Sunday Football League

AEK Letchworth has lifted the first trophy of the season.

They beat Kcinsatop Res by the odd goal in three in the Division Two Cup final last Wednesday night.

Goals from Micky Smith and Dale Clark gave AEK a 2-1 victory, Tony Wheatcroft replying for Kcinsatop.

The two teams meet again in the George John Memorial Trophy final at Arlesey Town's Hitchin Road this Sunday (6.30pm ko).

Kcinsatop have completed the league double over title rivals Red Star ICL inside a week.

Goals from Ryan Foster (two) and Paul Donnelly ensured a 3-1 win on Tuesday night, Phil Robertson getting a consolation.

Kcinsatop had kept alive their hopes of lifting the title after goals from Donnelly and Stuart Potasnick gave them a 2-0 win against the same opposition last Thursday.

Red Star won on Easter Sunday as goals from James Campbell, Leon Palma (two), Keith Milburn and Robertson secured a 5-0 win at Wanderers.

In Division One, Whitwell Res were crushed 6-0 at home by Offley Rangers, Darren Brill (two), Ben Moulding, Scott Wood, James Mason and Rob Wytock scoring.

Trevor Long had an Easter to remember as he scored three times as champions-elect Ocean's XI hammered their closest rivals AEK Letchworth 6-0.

AEK were obviously suffering a cup final hangover as Gary Wallace, Aaron Ford and Alvin Drummond (from the penalty spot) completed the scoring for Ocean's.

Paynes Park Superstars had a comfortable 3-0 home success against Dynamo Letchworth. Ben Wilkie was on target twice and Jermaine Lalite also scored.

The Boot Athletic put in a truly remarkable display to beat Kcinsatop Res 2-1.

A Glen Dorrington goal for Kcinsatop was cancelled out by Stuart McLoughlin before Rob Thornton scored the winner for the Boot.
