DEPARTING Potton United boss Ian Donnelly won a trophy in his final match in charge.
The Royals retained the North Beds Charity Cup on Monday after beating Wootton 3-1 at Langford's Forde Park.
Brett Donnelly gave the holders a 28th minute lead and they scored twice in six minutes after the interval to wrap up the win.
Paul Garrett scored the second on 58 minutes and Wes Byrne sealed their victory.
Steve Gentle netted a late consolation for Wootton.
It was some consolation after Woodford won 2-0 at Raunds on Saturday to steal the UCL Premier Division on goal difference. This means that Potton have finished as runners-up in the last two seasons.
* A new name will appear on the SA Butcher Cup following Campton Reserves' victory over Gamlingay United Reserves at Biggleswade United's Second Meadow ground on Tuesday night.
Campton's Jim Barnard gave the Bedford and District League side a first-half lead.
Gamlingay were caught on the break with just seven minutes remaining. Keeping a cool head with just the keeper to beat, Kieron O'Toole planted the ball perfectly in the back of the net to secure Campton's first ever victory in the cup competition.
The competition would like to hear from any other local junior or junior trophy level Saturday sides that would like to enter next year's competition. Please call Tracey James on 01767 316270.
