THERE was a thumping one-sided win for Blueharts against Crostyx.

They romped to an 11-0 win after John Barrett opened the scoring with a penalty stroke.

Jimmy Lewis scored a first-half hat-trick and Matt Gardner and Andy Slack also got in on the act to make it six without reply at the break.

In the second half, five more goals were added as Lewis took his personal tally to five. Barrett got his second and Ashley Hammond also grabbed a brace.

The emphatic victory saw Harts move up to sixth place in the East Premier A Division.

The result of the day was the seconds beating Upminster 1sts 6-2.

The first came after a fine move saw Phil Britton find space in the area and fire home.

A slack 10 minute period saw Blueharts take their foot off the gas and Upminster raced forward to score a scrappy equaliser and then net a second.

Blueharts regrouped and Tim Price was able to equalise at the back post after a fine move down the left.

The second half saw Blueharts dominate as Price completed his hat-trick before getting a fourth.

Britton's second, after a glorious run, really broke Upminster's resolve.

The Hicks brothers, Matt and Andy, both enjoyed excellent games at right and left half. Dominating Dan Drew's presence in the middle of the pitch set the platform for the strikers.

Blueharts take on bottom side Letchworth 2nds in a local derby this Saturday.

Other scores: Blueharts III 4 (Babbage two, Maylin, Dickie) Winchmore Hill I 1; Blueharts IV 1 (Larner) Luton Town III 1; Blueharts V 1 (K Noble) Vauxhall 2.

Letchworth gained ground on Division Two South league leaders Berkhamsted with a fine 5-3 win over Bishop's Stortford 2nds.

Goalscorers included a brace from Tom Wharton and a penalty stroke from skipper Dave Gentry.

The seconds kept their cool to share four goals with Ramagaria.

Dave Thomas and Ashley Brown scored, while the opposition had one player shown a red card for abusing the umpire.

Other scores: Letchworth III 0 Luton Vagrants 2; Letchworth IV 6 Rickmansworth III 1; Stevenage IV 4 Letchworth V 4; Letchworth VI 2 (Gary Pond and Heinz Wehrmann) Broxbourne VII 0.

Stevenage are up to third in their league after a crucial win over Vauxhall in a seven-goal thriller.

In an open and attacking game, Vauxhall took the early advantage and pressed for a second.

Jon Oliver equalised with a fantastic drive and within a minute, Stevenage took the lead when Matt Oliver found brother Mike to make no mistake.

Just before the break, Vauxhall equalised with a well-worked goal which gave Tim Dingley no chance.

The second half saw another defensive error gift Vauxhall the lead following a stunning strike.

Stevenage came back again and after Jon Oliver won another short corner, Paul Graves fired home the equaliser with a ferocious shot.

The match was there for the taking and Mike Oliver did a quick one-two with skipper Danny Blackburn before burying the ball into the net to make it 4-3.

There were still opportunities for both sides as the topsy-turvy nature of the contest continued up until the final whistle.

Other scores: Shefford and Sandy 1 Stevenage II 0; Stevenage III 1 (Terry Kingston) Bedford IV 1; Stevenage IV 4 (inc Ian Brown hat-trick) Letchworth V 4; Shefford and Sandy IV 6 Stevenage V 6 (Gary Fung hat-trick, Tony Parker two, Seb Rose); Stevenage VI 0 Royston IV 5.

MBDA suffered a disappointing 3-0 loss at Bishop's Stortfold 5ths following two good victories.

Although the home side played well enough to score their three goals, MBDA did not warrant such a heavy defeat as a number of chances were spurned that would have brought the scores closer.
