Easter themed runs were the order of the weekend as running clubs across north Hertfordshire went out for some bank holiday fun.

The most popular was to be found at St Albans on Good Friday, where the flat 10k course yielded plenty of good times.

Seven of the field were from Stevenage Phoenix with Ian Young taking more than two minutes over his previous PB, creating a new age category record of 44 minutes 57 seconds.

Zoe Shreeve and Katie Mitham joined him in the PB club with finishes of 59:42 and 1:03:07 while Jo Heasman continued to improve her race times with a 1:00:03.

Kelsee Watson (1:05:24), David Poulter (1:11:25) in his first 10k, and Charlie Day (1:12:04) were the others.

North Herts Road Runners had 11 involved.

Richard Springall was the first of them home, finishing 10th overall in 36:14 while Mike Phillips (39:19) and Michael Over (40:38) were either side of the 40-minute mark.
