Squirrel Taverners have made it through to the final of the Carl Couzens Challenge Cup after defeating Hitchin Sunday League Division One rivals AC Malone.

Squirrel took the lead mid-way through the first half with a Den Crook header, before Daniel Bond doubled their lead with a great finish early in the second period.

AC Malone then had their goalkeeper sent to the sin-bin but this only served in stinging them into action and two quick goals from Ben Fairy dragged the scores level with not much time remaining.

But with penalties looming, Joel Mason broke through and scored the winner late on to make the final score 3-2.
