The men of Blueharts Hockey Club proved impossible to beat as all seven sides emerged undefeated.

Four of those matches came against Letchworth, including the first-team who took the lead through a Ben Apperley penalty flick.

Some wayward finishing let Blueharts down, however, and the home side levelled to secure a 1-1 draw.

An Adam Wells hat-trick was the centrepiece of another fine win for the table-topping seconds  as they beat their Letchworth counterparts 4-0, Ben Phillipson also scoring as the Hitchin club moved four points clear in East League Division Two South West and with two games in hand.

Harry Macdonald, Richard Middleditch and Gillan Ide scored two each for the threes in a 6-1 win over Letchworth while the sevenths played out a 1-1 draw with Letchworth fifths, Daniel Holder getting their goal.

Paul Graves led a resolute defence for the fourths as they held St Albans to a 0-0 draw but the fifths continued their excellent recent form with a 2-1 success against Saints, Henry Burbridge and Ashley Hammond the scorers.

The superb sequence was completed by the sixths as they hit Bedford for six, Paul Krishman getting four of them and Charlie Moore and Cam Hone the others.

The ladies first-team drew 0-0 against bottom of the table Dereham in the East Premier Division as the main highlight in the section belonged to Talin Keoshgerian and the fifths.

She scored three and Millie Winton and Emily Bill one each as they beat Hertford 5-0.

A late equaliser from Emily Bryan earned the threes a 2-2 draw against Hertford and it was the same score for the sixths in their match against Hertford thanks to goals from Danielle Flood and Helen Ferguson.

A string of fine stops from Lara Wildon couldn’t save the seconds from a 2-0 loss to Hertford and the fourths also slipped to defeat when they went down 3-1 to Berkhamsted, despite a goal from Alice Winton.

However, it was almost the polar opposite for Stevenage Hockey Club as only the men's second team and the ladies' fifths picked up victories.

For the women there were several match ups with Saffron Walden. The first and seconds both lost 2-1 while the fourths went down 7-0.

The fifths reversed the trend though with a 1-0 success.

The men played Luton Town and Welwyn Garden City. Luton had the better of their encounters as they beat the thirds 4-1 and their third development side won 4-0 against Stevenage's fourths.

The matches with WGC had plenty of goals and ended with one win each.

The firsts lost 4-3 at Hertfordshire Sports Village, a last-minute goal stealing the win for the home side, but Stevenage's seconds had a 5-4 victory over their Welwyn counterparts.
