It was a successful day in the county cups for sides from Hitchin Sunday League.
Four from the league were drawn away in round two of the Herts Sunday Intermediate Cup and three of them were winners.
St Ippolyts went through 5-3 on penalties against Hartham United after the sides drew 1-1.
Troll Campbell went through in 90 minutes, beating Northside Spartans 1-0, and Ashwell advance by walkover as the Red Lion couldn't raise a team.
It was the end of the road for Buffs though as they fell 7-0 at Burford.
There were also two games played in the second round of the Herts Sunday Senior Cup.
North Baldock beat Broxelona 2-1 thanks to two late goals and it needed another penalty shoot-out to decided the all HSL tie between Atletico 99 and Squirrel Taverners, who drew 3-3 after normal time.
Atletico held their nerve to win the shoot-out 4-3.
In league action, Chells Rovers won 1-0 at home against Division One leaders AC Malone while Pied Piper beat FC Inter Malone 4-1.
In Division Two, Arlesey Town lost 5-0 at home against The Cock while GSS moved top with an impressive 6-1 win against Hitchin Rovers.
Rovers took the lead on 28 minutes but GSS levelled just two minutes later through Marcus Dolby who latched on to a goal kick from Lou Curtis.
A Paul Morris penalty put them in front at half-time and Leigh Parsons volleyed home from a Morris assist before the hour.
The final three goals all came in the final 10 minutes.
Jamie Burbury scored from a Dolby pass for four and Harison Ahern-Farebrother made it 5-1 when his shot was fumbled by the Hitchin keeper and the ball rolled over the line.
GSS finished the day of when Dolby grabbed his second goal of the game after midfielder Cory McCullough delivered a great ball through to him.
Sandon slipped down to second place after drawing 4-4 and dropping two points against Stotfold Juniors.
In Division Three the game between Cronies and Niche saw eight goals scored, Niche getting the edge 5-3, and Saint Evenage’s momentum keeps going as they had yet another win, their sixth in a row.
This one was 5-0 away to Down & Under.
Feed Up Warm Up and Lea Sports PSG picked up a point each following a 2-2 draw and the final game of the day saw unbeaten North Herts Hatters win 2-1 at home against Kimpton.
