It was a quiet week of racing for many running clubs - with many taking the opportunity to enjoy their summer holidays.

One North Herts Road Runner still picked up his trainers though, Ben Sewell taking on the Battersea 10km.

It is a course that is renowned for fast times as it loops around the flat and wide paths of Battersea Park.

And Sewell showed that to be true as he clocked a new PB of 34 minutes 51 seconds.

Stevenage Phoenix also had one of their members on the road in pursuit of fast times.

Jay Papa completed the Lowestoft parkrun on Saturday before racing in the Great Yarmouth Half Marathon on Sunday.

And his finishing time for the latter of 1:39:32 was not only PB and an eight-minute improvement on his last half, back in April, it was also a new age group club record.

Aside from Papa, who managed 21:37 at Lowestoft, there were another 14 club members at parkruns.

Six of them were at Stevenage but there were milestones elsewhere.

Peckham Rye brought up the 50th parkrun for Ashley Bates while Louise Chancellor ran at her 50th different parkrun location when she completed the Teignmouth course with Garry Wallace.
