North Herts Road Runners produced some stunning performances in scorching summer conditions.

The Squirrels were out in force at their third Midweek League fixture at beautiful Trent Park in Cockfosters, with 57 members cheered on by a large support squad.

The men finished in first place and the women in second, which meant overall success to leave them second in the standings, five points behind St Albans Striders and five ahead of Trent Park. And the vets men and women finished third and are still first overall after three races, one point ahead of Trent Park.

Katie Harbon won for the third straight race, finishing 90 seconds clear, while Ben Hadman was second in the men's race, with James Fox third and TOm Webb sixth.

Richard Weber, Cara Sutton and Anna Gibson completed the Greensand Country Ultra Trail 50k on Saturday, the hottest day of the year.

Weber tackled the distance for the first time and came home in 7:22.00, as Sutton and Gibson ran together and clocked 7:39.05.

Two squirrels headed to St Albans for the annual half marathon on Sunday, with Rachel Arnott finishing fifth female overall and third vet in a superb 1:37.20.
