The final weekend of the Hitchin Sunday League season saw Squirrel Taverners claim victory in the first Division Two play-off.
Played at the County Ground in Letchworth, they beat Almond Tree 4-1 to secure promotion to Division One.
They had to do it the hard way too, replying after conceding a headed goal 10 minutes in,
They got back on level terms late in the first period when Daniel Bond latched on to a Joel Mason through ball, wrong footed the defender and smashed one into the bottom corner.
And they turned round a goal up, Kyle Young meeting a long ball from Jamie Malyon before bursting into the box and supplying the finish.
Squirrel continued their barrage in the second half and went 3-1 ahead when Adam Branch's cross was deflected into the Almond Tree net.
And the game was wrapped up when substitute Harry Adcroft's crossed from the byline for Dennison Crook to score with a cultured finish.
The promotion comes in their first season as an established club after almost 20 years without a team.
The remaining five league games were due to be played but four had to be awarded because teams couldn’t raise enough players for the games to go ahead.
The one that did was in Division One with St Ippolyts winning 4-1 against Arlesey Town.
