Salford City's famous owners will demand nothing but success for their team and will pose a threat to Stevenage says Steve Evans.

The Ammies have Manchester United legends Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes in charge, with Butt now the chief executive.

And they arrive at the Lamex this afternoon sitting seventh, the very least the class of 92 alumni will expect according to the Boro boss.

Evans said: "Neil Wood [manager] will still have Gary Neville and Nicky Butt talking to him and these guys are winners, their CV’s have winner stamped all over it.

"They’ll have a minimum to make the playoffs, if not to fight for automatic promotion, so every game they play now will be as tough as it is for all of us.

"But they will come here on Saturday saying we're playing second in the table and it's a chance for us to [cement] the play-offs.

"Their squad is full of quality and I think they'll fancy their chances of getting a result here.

"But we fancy our chances as well. I fancy our chances home and away now.

"If you take away the blip, I think we’ve been very good and I'm really glad we started the season well with a long period of success.

"We can’t undo the fact that when we come out of Stoke, our form dipped and experience tells you that when a very successful cup run ends, your form normally dips and it becomes about how quickly you can regain it.

"We didn't regain it quick enough but we have regained it and with 10 to go, we're in a great position."
