Letchworth Rink Hockey U13s are the toast of the club after winning the Eastern Counties League - going unbeaten for the full season.

Only one match failed to result in a Letchworth win, that one ended in a draw, but their success could be part one in an even greater prize.

They have qualified for the National League, which consists of the two top teams from the southern and northern divisions.

The team also has a cup run on the go, having beaten Ely & Chesterton in the first round they now face King's Lynn in round two.

Coach Martin Thorogood, who is assisted by Emma Lindo, said: "These players have come together so well as a team with two of them enjoying their first season.

"I couldn’t be prouder of them all and to go the season unbeaten, against some good teams, shows the consistency that the players have brought to every tournament.

"Winning the league at our own tournament at North Herts Leisure Centre made it that bit more special."

The team is made up of Baptiste, Daniel, Emilia, Ethan, Nathan, Sophie and Summer.
