The Hitchin Sunday League are guaranteed at least one finalist in the Herts Sunday Junior Cup as three of their teams made it to the semi-finals.

FC Emperors Head beat HSL rivals Chells Rovers 3-0 and they will now play AC Malone who saw off Herts Ad Sunday League outfit Phoenix Res on penalties after a 2-2 draw.

Malone went ahead in five minutes with a goal from Will Payne after a Daril Ngwala pass but a better start to the second half from Phoenix saw them go 2-1 in front.

Great defending from Will Smith and Sam McGuire kept the score as it was and it allowed Will Smith to head home an equaliser from a Payne corner.

Phoenix’s second penalty hit the bar and with AC Malone scoring all five of their attempts, they go through 5-4.

Another all HSL-tie saw Fairfield Park win 5-1 against GSS.

They were three-up by half-time with goals from Reece Stokes and two for Luke Shimmel and although GSS pulled back early in the second period, Shimmel and Kane Dougherty finished things off.

They will play Glenn Sports who ended Atletico 99's cup run with a 1-0 win.

The four quarter-finals of the Subsidiary Cup were also played.

St Ippolyts beat Feed Up Warm Up 6-1 while Ashwell booked their place in the semi-finals with a comfortable 5-1 win at home over Khoi Khoi.

Kimpton became double cup semi-finalists with a penalty shoot-out win, this time over Division One side Buffs.

Neither side could score in a tight first half but the deadlock was broken just before the hour, Nick Jessop heading home a Jack Williams cross.

That lead was to last until 12 minutes from time when Kimpton’s keeper Russ Paine spilled a shot from outside the box and the rebound was knocked home.

Will McCarthy and Ollie Halls both found the back of the net for Kimpton before Jessop fired over the bar.

The visitors failed to take advantage, however, as their third spot kick was saved high to his right by Paine and Williams then put the villagers back in front.

Buffs equalised once again but after Rezza Rob scored Kimpton's final pen, Paine made the save to send them through.

North Herts Hatters were at home to Arlesey Town in another game where the teams couldn’t be separated at the end of normal time.

That finished 3-3 with Arlesey winning 7-6 from the spot.

There was one game in Division One, which saw Sandon lose 2-1 at home to Engineers Arms, and three in Division Two.

FC Inter Malone beat Almond Tree 3-1 to stay third while a 3-2 win for Hitchin Rovers away to FC Kings moves to just one point behind the league leaders.

The final game of the day saw a competitive match between Troll Campbell and Stotfold Juniors end 1-1.
