Goalkeeper Aaron Chapman has ended his stay at Stevenage claiming it "has not been ideal".

The 32-year-old has joined National League Scunthorpe United after finding opportunities in Steve Evans' team limited.

He appeared in the Papa John's Trophy and the early rounds of the Carabao Cup but even when Taye Ashby-Hammond was ruled out for a month with injury, he was still second in line with new signing Jokull Andresson getting the nod at Sutton United.

He now joins a revolution at the Iron under new former, and former Peterborough Sports boss, Jimmy Dean.

Speaking on his new club's website, Chapman said: "I heard of the interest at the end of last week and as soon as I heard, I just wanted to get it done as quickly as possible.

"It’s not been ideal, my time at Stevenage, but hopefully I can come here, play games and get us higher up the league.

"There’s been a lot (of positivity) with the takeover and the new manager, and I’m just happy to be part of the project.

"[Dean] just wants me to come in and bring what I’m about basically, that’s experience.

"I love to play football. That’s not what has happened over the last year really, but I’ve come here to play and to show everyone what I can do."

Chapman joined Stevenage in the summer, the third time he had been signed by Evans.

In total he made nine appearances at the Lamex.

The vacancy left by his departure has been filled by Adam Przybek.

The 22-year-old joins on a permanent deal after spells at Walsall, Wycombe Wanderers and Ipswich Town, having also represented Wales at U17, U19 and U21 levels.
