A quiet weekend it may have been but Fairlands Valley Spartans still found some activities to keep them busy.

Mike Jeffs had a superb run in the ten-mile race at Bedford on Sunday, finishing 26th overall in one hour five minutes 22 seconds.

Matt Clarke (1:22:49), Fiona Clarke (1:28: 25) and Jim Brown (1:30:03) were the others to run in the field of 339.

Parkruns provided the main competition and there some good performances including a win for Grant Ramsay at Stevenage in a time of 18:56.

He was one of 18 Spartans at the home event with Steven Dobner (23:01) and Tony Randfield (23:04) the next two to finish.

Gail Mackie (25:36) was the first Spartan female ahead of Mo Warrillow (26:08) and Claire Emmerson (28:09).

Elsewhere Nick Gill was second of 122 at Letchworth in a time of 22:18 while Nicola Kennedy (22:19) was the first female finisher out of 86 at Hunstanton Promenade in Norfolk.

Juliet Fullwood (25:53) was 10th overall and first female as 67 completed the event at Whinlatter Forest in the Lake District while Danny Scanlon took sixth and Stuart Archer seventh in the 59 runners at Westmill.
