Elliott List's return from injury will move another step closer from Monday as he joins his Stevenage team-mates in full training.

The forward has been out since the first day of the season at Tranmere Rovers, a knee injury in the first-half seemingly ended his year before it began.

However, he has shown remarkable progress in his recovery that Boro manager Steve Evans is optimistic of an imminent return, even if everything he said was with a note of caution.

Evans said: "Elliott is on the grass from next week which is an amazing recovery from where he has been.

"And then we’ll track him for three to four weeks to see if that progress is maintained.

"If he does then he won’t be far away.

"If there are any side issues, because it is never then about the injury he sustained, it’s the associated muscles like the hamstrings, groin and calves that haven’t been worked to the level that Elliott works to.

"If that happens, I’ll make the decision to take him out but that will be a tough decision as we have missed Listy for sure."
