Stevenage Royals strong start to the season continued with a Herts Premier League Cup win over Hemel Wolves.

The Marriotts School-based basketball club, who have more than 250 members aged from four up to senior level, had already won their four opening league games in Division Two and added Wolves to the list with an 80-63 victory in the round one match.

They got to a 17-11 lead at the end of the first quarter with Jack Harris scoring at will and they extended that lead to 41-24 by half-time, player-coach James Cummings leading the charge alongside Leonn Meade and Stuart Cameron.

Going into the final quarter they had built up a 27-point lead, which was the number of points scored by the Wolves in the period.

Royals though had plenty in hand to see out the game.

Harris ended up on 13 while there was nine each for Karlz Balbuena and Miles Davies.

Cummings though was top scorer with 21.
