It was back to league action for all Hitchin Sunday League clubs this week - and AC Malone enjoyed a good day in Division One.

They won 5-1 against bottom of the league Buffs with Kane Stanton hitting a hat-trick although they had to come from a goal down early on.

River Amis slotted in the equaliser before turning provider for Stanton's first.

Stanton scored before half-time for 3-1 and then at thend for 5-1, Amis setting up Ben Fairey for the goal in between.

Sandon and St Ippolyts picked up a point each following a 2-2 draw while FC Emperors Head picked up their first points of the season with a 3-2 success at home to title challengers FC St Johns.

Alex Richardson opened the scoring for Atletico 99 in their game against The Cock, equalling his tally of seven from the whole of last season.

The Cock equalised but a penalty from Brad Heaps and one each for Tom Grieveson and James Gunn completed a 4-1 win.

Coach & Horses picked up three points away to previously unbeaten Engineers Arms with a 2-0 win, the victory putting them five points clear at the top of the table.

Despite scoring twice Ashwell lost to Fairfield Park after conceding four goals.

 

It was the same score in Division Two as FC Kings lost 4-2 at home to unbeaten Saint Evenage.

The game of the day saw Almond Tree come out 7-4 winners over The Albion.

It was only 2-0 at half-time and the second period saw Albion take a 3-2 lead before the Tree hit five without reply, leaving Albion's fourth as a mere consolation.

Hitchin Rovers dropped their first points of the season with a 1-1 draw against FC Inter Malone and Kimpton lost 3-2 to Lea Sports PSG.

North Baldock kept up their title challenge with a 4-1 win at home against Feed Up Warm Up and Stotfold Juniors are now second in the table after a 4-1 win against Troll Campbell.

North Herts Hatters lost at home against GSS despite taking a ninth-minute lead.

Peter Gurney latched on to a Liam Morton cross nine minute's later though to equalise for GSS and he got their second early in the second half after great work from Darren Wells.

He completed his hat-trick and clinched the three points from the penalty spot.

The final game of the day saw Khoi Khoi lose 4-1 at home to Squirrel Taverners.

Evan Bennett opened the scoring for the Taverners from a Dean Auburn through-ball and the latter also assisted Fred O'Brien in making it 2-0.

Khoi Khoi got one back before Auburn got the third himself and Jack Randall secured the points with a powerful header from a Fin Cole cross.
