Williamson and Tella hand out prizes at youth football club in Stevenage

Bedwell Rangers welcomed the parents and relatives of over 400 players to their presentation day.

First up was a chance to reward 20 of the three, four and five-year-old boys and girls who have attended the club’s popular Saturday morning soccer school for more than a year.

Next up were presentations to the players of the club’s 11 girls teams.

With Bedwell Rangers being Advanced Club Associates of Arsenal Ladies FC, the club were thrilled to have England U19 star Leah Williamson to present trophies to the 150 girls present.

Along with a packed hall, the Arsenal player was able to hear chairman Gary Dempsey highlight the success of the last 12 months which has seen more girls than ever between the age of six to 17 playing for Rangers and also released the news that the club will field a ladies team in the 2015/16 season.

The final award for the girls was the prestigious Team of the Season Award, which went to the U17 Dragons who won the HFGPL League and Shield double.

Williamson then made time to sign autographs and have photos taken with many of the players

Rangers also provide football for children with disabilities and special needs, and 11 children from the club’s thriving inclusive section then stepped up to receive their awards.

The club had a second special guest to present awards to the 250 players of Bedwell’s 19 boys teams – Arsenal’s U18 winger and former Bedwell Rangers player, Nathan Tella.

Having recently finished playing in Europe for the Arsenal Academy, Nathan made time in his busy schedule to hand out awards to players in the junior boys section.
