The 1sts had a storming local derby 6-0 win at Letchworth.

Blueharts were sharp from the start and it was within 10 minutes that Naomi Cornell found the backboard to take the lead.

With some fresh legs in the squad this weekend, Blueharts quickly started to unpick Letchworth’s defence, and both Harriet Marsh and Cornell had slammed shots away before the half-time whistle.

It was Marsh, Kate Chapman and Kate Chappell who scored the smart and fast final goals leaving the game with a solid 6-0 scoreline by full time.

It was a great result and a refreshing three points for this side who needed a boost of confidence at this stage of the season.

Joint players of the match were Ellen Robertson and Emma Baxter.

They travel to Bedford this Saturday for a 2.30pm start.

The 3rds were home against Royston for a rearranged game from earlier on in the year and it was a chance for them to go four points clear of the Five Counties Division Two leaderboard.

It was a chance they took as they followed up a 6-0 half-time lead by adding a further 10 goals in the second half.

They played to their strengths well, working the ball up to Olivia Marsh who made some excellent runs down the right with Isolde Pryle by her side.

Marsh secured four goals, one of which was a nifty penalty stroke.

Gabrielle Sillis was key in applying pressure from the left and showed excellent ability in her reverse stick crosses into the D going on to score two goals.

Amanda Donnachie didn’t disappoint and netted an impressive six times. Also on the score sheet were Julie Buckland, Jo Gibson and Sarah Baxter (two) including a well-executed penalty stroke.

The 5ths were at home for a local derby against Stevenage.

Blueharts started fast and after a couple of good chances took the lead when Nick Franks finished off a nice passing move.

The lead was doubled shortly afterwards when Ben Guest went on target.

Stevenage, top of the East Men’s Division 6SW and already promoted, continued to work hard but rarely tested the 5ths’ defence and 2-0 became 3-0 just before half-time when Harry Sampson finished from close range.

Ashley Hammond finished off the scoring in the second half to make it 4-0.

The men’s 4ths lost 3-1 away at Letchworth.
