Biggleswade FC’s chairman Jeremy Reynolds is committed to integrating the newly-formed club into the local community of Biggleswade.

The team formed in 2016 have performed remarkably well on the pitch and lifted the Spartan South Midlands League Division One title in their inaugural season as a club- they were promoted and sit second in the Premier Division table.

However, Reynolds spoke to CometSport about the positive steps being taken off the field: “We also aim to involve the local community of Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, especially exciting and inspiring local school children.

“For example at one of our home games last season when we explained about and launched our new kit and club badge, with a special occasion and with FA and local league committee members present.

The origins of the club are intriguing as they are the product of Biggleswade Town’s U18s side and Reynolds added that young players are essential to their philosophy.

He adds: “Our ethos is based on attractive, passing football and with our squad comprising young, talented players, many of whom were formerly at professional academies and our club has given them a route for progression and further development – we were formed from a very successful Under 18s side.”

Their next fixture is on Saturday at The Carlsberg Stadium- where they ground-share with Biggleswade Town- against league leaders Berkhamsted.
