The excitement of a new club record has quickly been replaced by yet more virtual running and racing for Fairlands Valley Spartans.

Johnathan Parr's sub-16 minute run for 5k wasn't threatened but many from the club were out over the distance for the latest Fly 5k, a virtual version of a parkrun.

Nick Kleanthous ran the quickest time to place 85th while Nicola Andersson was 114th. One week earlier Kleanthous had ran his 20th event while Jim Brown managed his 10th.

Some different times were also recorded in the (not) Stevenage Parkrun 5k event . They were Nicola Andersson who clocked 27 minutes 35 seconds, Marian Morley (29:04) and Beth Foley (35:35).

The club have also been racking up the miles on a virtual tour of the USA.

Started in November they have ran the full length of the historic Route 66 as well as a number of marathons and ultra runs in various cities.

The latest was the 100-mile Daytona Ultra with the next stop Charleston. So far the grand total is 8,692 miles.
